April has been a very busy month. Since its first week we had the pleasure to host some friends from Bogota, Colombia.
They are Catalina Figueroa and Manuel Gordillo, from the sound production company of La Tina Sonido. Manuel is a sound designer with a degree at the Berklee College of Music, where he became a close friend to our Emanuele Contis (Indoru). Back in its homeland, now he works on numerous international productions, such as the famous ‘Narcos’ from Netflix. Catalina is a dynamic producer with great contacts with all the big players from beyond the ocean (HBO, Netflix, etc).
The week we've been together, we showed them some of the best locations of the island – with major focus on the ones linked to Mommotty and Nicola Contini’s next animation project, ‘A Trip to Teulada’, for which Manuel Gordillo will score the sound – and have a very interesting meeting at Artevideo’s offices, where Catalina told us all her secrets to work and produce with the big companies of both South and North America.
This experience has been a great example of collaboration between the companies involved in LÙGERE and other important players of our local audiovisual field, such as the Skepto International Film Festival, which instituted for this year’s edition a special prize for sound and music, putting our guys of La Tina Sonido on its jury and helping us with some of the costs of an intercontinental travel, and the Sardegna Film Commission with which we organized a successful masterclass about soundtracking and sound design, opened to all the local professionals.
